What this page is for
This page helps homeowners identify the documents and questions that matter when a solar finance company, lease provider, servicer, or assignee is part of the transaction. It is not a claim that Sunnova did anything wrong in any particular case.
Cancel My Solar reviews the homeowner’s own contract, payment schedule, sales communications, tax-credit representations, payoff records, credit reporting, and title/UCC documents.
Documents to collect
- Solar loan, lease, PPA, or retail installment contract
- Payment schedule, re-amortization notice, and monthly statements
- Sales proposal, tax-credit worksheet, and savings estimate
- Payoff letters, assignment notices, or servicing transfer notices
- Credit report excerpts, dispute letters, and servicer responses
- UCC or fixture filing records if sale/refinance/title is affected
Review questions
- Did the sales pitch match the finance agreement?
- Was a tax-credit prepayment assumption clearly explained?
- Was the financed price different from a cash-style price?
- Did the payment increase or servicing change unexpectedly?
- Is the account being reported or collected while the transaction is disputed?
